Why WHISTLING SPRINGS?
We love good books! Our children particularly enjoy the likes of J.R.R. Tolkein and C.S. Lewis.
One of our favorite lines in The Chronicles of Narnia comes from the book The Silver Chair. It occurs just after Prince Rilian is freed by three unlikely heroes from a witch’s long enchantment over his life. At this particular point in their adventure there is still much darkness and danger ahead for Rilian and his new friends. But listen to the manner of the unfettered prince in his new found liberty:
Unlike the other three, he seemed to be almost enjoying himself. He whistled as he rode, and sang snatches of an old song about Corin Thunder-fist of Archenland. The truth is, he was so glad at being free from his long enchantment that all dangers seemed but a game in comparison.
Like the unbridled Prince Rilian, we want to whistle through the generations. Whistling Springs Farm is an expression of that humble desire.
